Joshua Russell
Director of Communications and Emerging Initiatives

Josh Russell has worked in marketing and communications in Silicon Valley for over 10 years. After working for three local advertising and PR agencies in San Jose, Josh followed his passion for the arts and joined Arts Council Silicon Valley as the organization's Communications Manager in 2004, where he helped raise visibility of the organization through the media by more than 600% and spearheaded the creation of a new emerging arts leader network. Josh is a graduate of Community Leadership San Jose's 2008 Class and currently serves as a Board member of the San Jose Leadership Council, on the marketing committee for Via Services, as co-founder and Chair of genARTS Silicon Valley, and on the San Jose Arts Marketing Roundtable. He is the former President of the Ad Club of Silicon Valley and the former co-host of a 5th Grade History Gameshow in partnership with the Santa Clara County Office of Education. Josh was born and raised in Los Gatos, California and is a passionate Bay Area sports fan, writing and managing blogs for the Golden State Warriors and Oakland Athletics for the Fanball Sports Network.
