A: 1stACT is not a grantmaking organization, but rather strategic investors in new or catalytic initiatives and activities.

Q: Is 1stACT just focused on Downtown San Jose?
A: No, however we view Downtown San Jose as the "urban core" for Silicon Valley and a cultural asset for the entire region. That being said, Silicon Valley's Urban Core is just one of our three focus areas.

Q: Is 1stACT planning to be around indefinitely?
A: Actually, we believe 1stACT has a 5-10 year run and will sunset post catalyzing our vision.

Q: How are you different from Arts Council Silicon Valley?

A: The Arts Council is a grantmaking organization focused on funding opportunities for small and mid-sized arts and cultural organizations and individual artists.
