As a catalytic network of leaders, 1stACT's work crosses three focus areas.

Urban Stewardship - focuses on advancing the vibrancy of Downtown San Jose through urban design, the continuation of aesthetic and streetscape improvements, and social and cultural offerings that draw people downtown.

Cultural Stewardship - Cultural Stewardship employs innovative models and technology tools to strengthen the arts and cultural ecosystem in Silicon Valley, and in turn, increases capacity to deliver cultural and social offerings.

Cultural Literacy - 1stACT Silicon Valley is incubating a Children’s Creativity Network to engage children in the arts, expose children to the arts and exhibit children’s creations.
